QUICK START

From import to practice

  1. 1

    Add audio

In Songs, tap Add and choose Files / cloud storage or microphone recording. Use only original audio or material you are authorised to copy, analyse, and share.

  2. 2

    Choose a separation

Choose Standard 6, Pro 10, fixed Pro 12, or Pro Instrument Select. Instrument Select starts with Standard 6 or Pro 10 and adds only the instruments you check.

  3. 3

    Create the selected stems

BandScribe shows the required credits before upload and confirms them only after successful completion. Failed or interrupted jobs do not consume credits.

  4. 4

Practise with chords, score, and mixer

Use the position slider and section buttons to jump to the intro, verse, chorus, bridge, instrumental section, or ending. Adjust tempo, key, loop, and count-in as needed.

  5. 5

    Share with your band

Select a private band in Shared Songs and add the completed analysis. Members reuse the same result, so it does not need to be separated once per person.

STEM SEPARATION

Four separation modes

STANDARD

Separates Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, and Other. It is available for the introductory trial and Standard members.

VocalsDrumsBassGuitarPianoOther

2 · Pro 10

Fixed tracks: Vocals, Backing Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Strings, Wind/Brass, Synth, and Other.

3 · Pro 12

Adds Organ and Sax Solo to Pro 10 so organ and solo saxophone can be controlled independently.

4 · Pro Instrument Select

Start with Standard 6 or Pro 10, then check only the supported keyboard, string, woodwind, or brass instruments you need.

Processing and retention

Audio and generated stems sent to MVSEP are deleted automatically from its servers after three days and are never used for model training.

MAIN MENU

Features and controls

Songs

Add audio from Files, cloud storage, or microphone recording. Rename, reorder, reanalyse, or delete songs.

Chords

Follow the chord progression with playback. Use BPM, beats, bars, and section markers to find the part you want to practise.

Score

Create notation for a selected instrument and range. Play, pause, slow down, loop, correct, print, or export it.

Mixer

The mixer follows the selected separation and shows 6, 10, 12, or more tracks with volume, pan, mute, and solo controls.

Band

Create bands, invite members, share analysed songs, organise setlists, and exchange messages.

Settings

View plans, credits, analysis methods, chord-display options, privacy information, licences, and the app version.

Chords, BPM, beats, and bars

Chord names, tempo, beats, and bar numbers follow the audio. In landscape, section buttons help you jump directly to the desired part. Choose one-finger or two-finger scrolling in Settings.

Score

Select an instrument and range, then view standard notation or pitch-and-timing mode. Play beside the score, organise AI candidates, and export supported PDF, MIDI, or MusicXML files.

Mixer

Adjust volume, mute, solo, and pan for every stem. Move through the song with the player and position slider, or mute your own instrument for accompaniment practice.

Setlists and shared songs

Keep performance order in setlists and band analysis in shared lists. You can create multiple private bands and assign songs and members to each one.

Play, return and follow

Play/Pause starts at the current position or the selected range. Return to Start stops playback, clears the range and returns to the beginning. Follow Current Position resumes automatic scrolling of chords and score after manual movement.

Lyrics, parts and display

Lyrics toggles words in matching bars. Settings provides Auto, Japanese and English. Select the notation part, switch between Part Audio and Full Mix, then choose staff notation, piano voicing, guitar TAB or another supported display.

Speed, key and count

Playback speed runs from 100% to 50% in 10% steps without changing key. Key transposes independently from flat 6 to sharp 6. “1 2 3 4” is the count-in before playback; Metronome is the continuing click during playback.

Range, repeat and export

Hold the starting chord for the duration chosen in Settings, then drag to the end. The range turns purple and can be looped or used to create Score Beta. Purple X clears it. The three-line menu opens beat entry, chord-timing and lyric correction, PDF/MIDI export and printing.

PLANS & CREDITS

Plans and credits

Free trial

First 3 songs

Applies only to successfully completed Standard 6 analyses. Failed or interrupted processing does not reduce the allowance.

Standard

¥500 / month in Japan

Standard 6 features and 10 monthly analysis credits. Up to 20 unused monthly credits can be retained.

Pro

¥2,000 / month in Japan

Standard features, Pro 10, Pro 12, Instrument Select, and 20 monthly analysis credits. Up to 40 can be retained.

Additional purchase

10 credits · about ¥1,000

A manual consumable purchase when you need more. BandScribe does not buy credits automatically.

Subscriptions are not unlimited-use plans. Standard 6 costs 1 credit per song, Pro 10 costs 4 credits for up to 5 minutes, Pro 12 costs 6, and Instrument Select adds 1 credit per selected additional instrument per 5 minutes to its base. Failed or cancelled processing, playback, mixer use, viewing, private band reuse and Score Beta consume 0 credits. Prices and conditions vary by country or region; the App Store confirmation screen is the final price display. TestFlight uses Apple’s Sandbox and does not make a production charge.

HELP

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to connect a Mac?

No. The release version uses cloud analysis directly from iPhone or iPad. The development Mac option is only for development builds.

Are analysis results always accurate?

No. Separation, chord, tempo, bar, lyric, and notation results can vary with the recording and arrangement. Listen to the source and correct results when necessary.

Can I share one result with my band?

Yes. Add a completed analysis to a private band’s shared list. Authorised members can reuse that result instead of separating the same song again.

Can BandScribe download music from YouTube or streaming services?

No. BandScribe does not download or convert audio from video or streaming services. Use only audio you own or are authorised to copy, process, and share.

What happens when I cancel a subscription?

Cancellation stops future renewals. Data already stored on your device remains available unless you delete it, but cloud analysis and other paid features may require an active plan or credits.
